Draft · 11 October 2026
Privacy
This draft covers two different things: the website you are on now, and the family archive Originstory intends to build. They do not yet follow the same rules, because the archive is not open.
The website
If you join the alpha, we keep the email address you submit, and a short note about which form you used. When a Supabase project is connected, that row is stored there. When it is not, the address is written to the server log so the request is not silently dropped. We do not sell that list, and this site does not run advertising trackers.
The host may keep ordinary server logs, such as a browser type and an IP address, for security and reliability. The session preview on the home page sends what you type to this site’s interviewer route. Do not put a story there that you need kept private. The preview is not the family archive, and it is not a promise of storage.
The product we are building
Originstory is being designed so a family owns its stories: end-to-end encryption, an on-device option for capture, granular sharing, and access to your own data and downloads that does not expire, including on the free plan. Ambient listening, if it ships, will be opt-in and on-device first.
Those are product intentions for the alpha, not a description of protections this marketing site can offer today. A finished privacy policy will name the processors, the retention periods, and the requests a person can make, before any archive opens.
